Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Loosely chop green onions and cilantro. Smash and peel garlic. Add to the marinading bowl.
  2. Wet ingredients: add 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp. sesame oil to the marinading bowl. Squeeze 2-3 limes.
  3. Dry ingredients: add 1 tbsp. brown sugar and 1/2 tsp. sesame seeds.
  4. Cut the skirt steak (with the grain) into single portioned pieces. Add beef/meat into the mixture and combine well. Place in the fridge and let all the flavours marry together for at least 6 hours. Preferrably overnight.
  5. Remove beef/meat from the marinade and pat dry with a paper towel. Discard the rest of the leftover marinade.
  6. Add 2-3 tbsp. of olive oil to a pan. On med-high heat, cook the skirt steak for 3 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Cook 1-2 steaks at a time. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  7. Once steaks are done, let the meat rest for about 5-10 minutes. Cut your steak against the grain, slicing on a bias.
  8. Serve with preferred sides: rice, quinoa, salad, roasted vegetables, bread. ENJOY!
