Yoga + Beer = I’m in!
I recently moved to Santa Monica a couple of months ago and I’m always looking for new experiences. One of the sites that I usually check out for things to do is Eventbrite. It’s a great site that lists upcoming events from parties, club nights, art shows, beer/food crawl, business and professional events, to yoga classes. You can easily filter the type of events you’re looking for and then directly purchase your tickets on the site.
Last Sunday, a girlfriend and I decided to try out a brewery yoga experience in DTLA at Indie.
The Yoga/Beer Low-Down
- Tickets are $12/each in advance, $15/each on the day
- 10:30 (optional run)- which we decided to opt out of =)
- 11:00 – Vinyasa flow yoga
- 12:00 – BEER! You get a free drink
We arrived around 10:50 for the yoga class. You line up your mats right in the middle of the taproom along with about 40-50 people. It was really cool having the brewing tanks right in the back of the space which gave the place such an earthy scent from the hops.
After an hour of yoga, we took a picture with the whole crew and then went straight to the bar to claim our free drink. They’ve got a variety of beers to choose from – light, hoppy, malt, Belgian, IPAs. I’m not much of a beer connoisseur, but I do prefer light, wheat beers over the hoppy blends. However, I couldn’t resist but choose a malt blend called Bad N Boozie – the name was just way too awesome for me not to try it. This beer was definitely true to its name. Although I wasn’t feeling too “bad” after a drink, I was definitely feeling boozie. My friend and I were mostly there for their beers but they also had food options if anyone wanted a quick bite to eat.
Overall, it was a very balanced Sunday FUNday morning!
